The Northland Directory provides one page for faculty and staff to share and highlight their professional information.

Directory Profiles

Each new Northland faculty and staff member automatically has their own profile populated with general information submitted by their supervisor.

Optional Profile Content

Profiles can be enhanced by including:

• Education
• Biography
• Professional headshot
• LinkedIn/vita links
• Courses Taught
• Publications and presentations
• Research/areas of interest

All fields are optional unless directed by the department.

Why can this information only be in the Directory?

Search yourself on Google and you’ll likely find your Northland Directory page ranked #1. It’s important that your Directory page has the most complete professional information you want to present to the world.

In the past, there have been issues with duplicate and outdated biography content on multiple web pages. Having a single source alleviates this issue.

Your single profile is multi-purpose.

• Directory profile pages can be linked to and from department or program pages, news releases, and committee web pages.
• Profiles are searched by prospective students looking to learn more about their future faculty and support staff.
• Media search the Directory for subject-matter experts. They often pull headshots and biographies from the Directory to use in stories.
• Researchers search the Directory to find collaborators.

Instructions to Update Your Profile

Complete the online form to request updates for your Northland online directory profile. A confirmation email will be sent after your edits have been updated.

Headshot

Only professional headshots are permitted in the directory. Free professional headshot services are available to College faculty and staff (students and student employees are not eligible). You can find a list of upcoming headshot days on the Northland Events Calendar. Marketing & Communications will also send email communications about upcoming photo shoots. Approved headshots taken by Marketing & Communications will be uploaded to the Directory.
