Program specifics about earning an Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Maintenance Technician Certificate at Northland.
The UAS certificate will concentrate on the maintenance and repair of the components of uncrewed aircraft systems to include: uncrewed aircraft (UAs), control stations (CSs), understanding the function of data links or the communication/guidance system between aircraft and control station, and a basic understanding of computer networks and their functionality within UAS. Courses are designed to create a skilled UAS Maintenance Technician with a broad understanding of commonly used UAS platforms at the functional level.

Program Learner Outcomes
- The student will identify primary systems and vehicles being utilized in the uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) industry and their correct vehicle/system classification and function.
- The student will apply the appropriate safety work habits and procedures.
- The student will demonstrate principles of troubleshooting for various UAS maintenance tasks.
- The student will demonstrate the proper use of hand tools appropriate to the UAS industry.
- The student will perform aircraft maintenance and repair using technical information provided by the various UAS manufacturers to assure an airworthy condition.
- The student will configure, install, and maintain UAS computer networking operating systems and hardware.
- The student will repair and maintain components of the control stations (CS).
- The student will maintain and repair communication/data systems linking uncrewed aircrafts to CS.
