The purpose of the advising is to provide academic guidance to Northland students. Northland advisors assist students with plans for their course of study, class registration, and help provide academic advice.
Northland advisors assist students with plans for their course of study, class registration, and give academic advice. The advisors strongly recommend that students meet with them regularly to plan academic schedules to assure students are on track to meet their educational goals. The advisors work to make the students' transition to 4-year and other schools as seamless as possible by providing necessary information and assistance.
The Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) is designed to help you identify and understand your current academic requirements for degree or program completion.
Please click on the following link to view a Captivate Presentation that will give you a brief overview of DARS.
DARS is a tool designed to assist program advisors, academic counselors, and students in selecting courses and showing academic progress towards educational goals.
The DARS report is not a transcript. It is not intended to report a student's academic record to outside parties. If you need a student copy of your transcript, you may obtain one from the NCTC website. As with a transcript, federal law prohibits transmission of a DARS report to a third party without the student's permission.
DARS is a computer-based system that lists the college requirements for your program to help you plan and monitor your progress. DARS does this by: identifying all the requirements needed to complete your program; indicating NCTC and transfer courses you have already completed and how they pertain to your requirements; and specifying what you still need to complete your program.
Go to the Northland home page. Click on MyNCTC on the menu bar and then click on e-Services and choose Register On-Line for Classes. Log in to the web registration system with your NCTC Student ID and PIN. Once you have successfully logged in, look to the upper left hand corner for the Student E-Services menu, click on Grades & Transcripts then choose Degree Audit Report.
