Before You Register (Please Read)

By signing in and registering, you acknowledge that you have reviewed your responsibilities as a student:

You agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in the Northland student handbook and college catalog. These terms include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Protect your student account: Your records are private. Do not share your STAR ID username or password.
  • Registration is a financial commitment: Enrolling in classes creates a financial obligation. Classes must be dropped prior to the published deadline to receive a full refund of tuition and fees.
  • Financial aid is separate: Completing the financial aid process is your responsibility. Not completing it does not reduce your financial obligation.
  • Managing your schedule: You are responsible for adding or dropping classes and verifying changes. Always review and save a copy of your schedule in eServices.
  • Dropping classes: If you no longer plan to attend, you must drop your classes before the deadline. Do not assume classes will be automatically canceled.
  • Refunds after deadlines: After the drop deadline, prorated refunds are issued only for complete withdrawals (withdrawing from all classes for the semester), per the Northland refund schedule.
  • Class cancellations: Courses are only canceled under specific circumstances. Review the Registration Cancellation for Non-Payment policy and Registration Cancellation for Non-Payment procedure for more information.
  • Academic progress: You must maintain at least a cumulative 2.0 GPA and a minimum cumulative 67% completion rate to meet satisfactory academic progress requirements.
  • Account balances: All balances must be paid in full before registering for future semesters. At the end of the term, any unpaid balances will be referred to collections through the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
