The cost to attend Northland is based upon the tuition rates in effect at the time a student takes the desired course, plus any associated fees.

Tuition for North Dakota & Wisconsin Students (Reciprocity)

Students from North Dakota and Wisconsin are eligible for Minnesota resident tuition rates through reciprocity agreements.

The estimated cost of attendance represents what it may cost to attend Northland for one academic year. This information is used by the Financial Aid Office to determine your eligibility for financial aid.

Note: Tuition and fee rates are estimated until approved by the Minnesota State Board.

These estimates are based on:

  • Full-time enrollment (15 credits per term, two terms)
  • Nine months of attendance

Students attending part-time may still qualify for financial aid, but their estimated costs and award amounts will be adjusted accordingly.

  • Books & Supplies: Average cost for required materials

Additional costs may apply for certain programs, including licensure and certification fees.

Loan fees are included within the miscellaneous personal expense estimate.

Northland uses data from sources such as the College Board and Minnesota DEED, along with other benchmarks, to develop these estimates.

Understanding Fees

Fees support student services, campus technology, and hands-on learning experiences. Not all fees apply to every student. Your costs will depend on your enrollment, courses, and services used.

Common Student Fees (Most Students)

These are the standard fees included with tuition for most students.
