Laptop Requirements
Some academic programs require students to have laptops.

- Northland ITS Helpdesk provides standard support for student laptops used for academic purposes.

Note: Lab availability is based on college operating hours. Labs are closed on weekends, holidays, and when classes are not in session.

Forgot your StarID? No problem — you can quickly locate or activate it using the https://starid.minnstate.edu/.
Your StarID is your universal login for:
- D2L Brightspace
- Student Email
- Wireless Internet Access
- Campus Network
Tip: Your login format for most services is StarID@go.minnstate.edu.
If your name is common, a number may be added to the end of your StarID. Always confirm your credentials through the StarID Self Service portal.
Email Access
- Your student email is in the format of: firstname.lastname@go.northlandcollege.edu
- Login format: StarID@go.minnstate.edu
- Note: Common names may include a number at the end. Confirm via StarID Self-Service.
- Email is the official means of communication between Northland and students. Check daily for updates.
- You may also set up your smartphone to receive your email. Instructions for Email Login and Smartphone Setup.
Printing Services
- Students receive $20 of free printing per semester.
- Add funds at Kiosks in campus cafeterias (accepts coins and bills).
- For debit/credit purchases, visit the campus bookstore.
Printing Costs:
- Black & White: $0.05 per side or $0.04 per duplexed page
- Color: $0.25 per side (New lower price!)
Wireless Access
All Northland campuses offer full wireless coverage for students, employees, and guests.
- Guests must contact the IT department to receive a guest account.
Computer Access
Northland has many computer areas available for student use. Visit the HOW DO I? section for a listing of labs and hours.
