How to Enroll at Northland Community & Technical College.

Follow these four steps to complete your college enrollment process.

Step 1: Apply to Northland Community & Technical College

Start your free college application online.

  • Complete the Northland application form to begin your journey.
  • Submit anytime—save your progress and return later.
  • No application fee required.

Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

Secure funding for your education.

  • Submit the FAFSA using Northland’s school code: 002385
  • Apply early to maximize your financial aid package
  • Explore Northland scholarships for additional funding
  • Veterans: Visit the Veteran Resource Center for benefit support

Step 3: Complete Placement Assessment (If Needed)

Determine your course placement.

  • Northland uses various tests, including ACT, SAT, Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA), and/or your high school GPA, or prior college credits, to help determine course placement
  • If placement can’t be determined based on that information, you will need to take an Accuplacer assessment
  • Learn more about college placement testing

Step 4: Register for Classes with an Academic Advisor

Plan your first semester with expert guidance.

  • Meet with your assigned advisor to select courses
  • Get help aligning your schedule with your degree or career goals
  • Access campus resources and support services
