Alluma Night Returns to Shine a Light on Healing, Recovery, and Hope

The 4th Annual Alluma Night will be held at Northland Community & Technical College on June 3.

From Alluma by Michelle Van Camp

Alluma, a leading community mental health and substance use care center in northwest Minnesota, is proud to host the 4th Annual Alluma Night. This free, community-focused event aims to raise awareness, foster healing, and build community through hope and connection.

Event Details:

  • Date and Time: Tuesday, June 3, 2025, 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Location: Northland Community & Technical College, East Grand Forks
  • Admission: Free

Following last year’s successful move to East Grand Forks, Alluma Night continues to grow as a space where people of all ages can come together to explore mental health and wellbeing in an open, stigma-free environment.

“Alluma Night is about connection — with ourselves, our neighbors and community, and the tools that support healing,” said Michelle Van Camp, Marketing & Information Governance Officer at Alluma.

This year brings a few new features to the event. Alluma’s Substance Use Disorder services team will be onsite, joined by Polk County Public Health, offering Narcan training and a limited supply of Narcan for distribution—an important step in supporting local overdose prevention efforts.

Also new this year, we’re partnering with Northland Community & Technical College’s Food Services to offer a $3 meal combo (hot dog, chips, and a drink). This adds to returning favorites: New Flavors Food Truck, Sap Sap Kitchen, and Kook Kreations Shaved Ice.

A special tradition continues for a fourth year as Jon Weaver of White Earth opens and closes the event with ceremonial songs performed with his hand drum. He will lead two special sessions on music and mental health through a Native American cultural lens.

In addition to these highlights, the event will feature more than 35 interactive experiences and vendor booths designed to engage, educate, and empower attendees. Guests can enjoy hands-on activities such as creating calming jars, a giant coloring wall, a healing crystal station, make-and-take aromatherapy bracelets, and a dedicated space for LGBTQIA+ resources.
