Course Description
This advanced laboratory course provides supervised, hands-on instruction using high-fidelity simulation to develop and validate upper-level respiratory care competencies. Students engage in complex, scenario-based activities requiring advanced patient assessment, evidence-based therapy recommendations and modifications, mechanical ventilation management, and hemodynamic monitoring. Lab experiences focus on applying critical-thinking, clinical decision-making, and technical proficiency in realistic critical care environments. This course reinforces and elevates the skills acquired in earlier clinical rotations through intensive practice, simulation debriefing, and summative skill evaluations.
