Course Description
This lecture course provides an in-depth exploration of the Respiratory Therapists role in the management of advanced critical care patients. Emphasis is placed on the comprehensive assessment and evidence-based care of patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Topics include interpretation of advanced monitoring data, ventilator management strategies, hemodynamic assessment, management of complex respiratory pathologies, and integration of multidisciplinary care principles. Students will analyze clinical scenarios to develop critical-thinking and decision-making skills required for high-acuity environments. The course prepares learners to apply advanced respiratory care concepts in alignment with current professional standards and critical care practice guidelines.
