Course Description
This hospital clinical provides supervised instructional experience in patient-care settings where students apply the foundational principles, equipment knowledge, procedures, and advance competencies. Under the guidance of clinical preceptors, learners translate theory to practice across core respiratory care domains, including oxygen delivery systems and medical gas therapy; humidity and aerosol administration; bronchial hygiene and hyperinflation therapy; respiratory pharmacology; airway management; and the concepts underlying noninvasive and mechanical ventilation. Clinical activities emphasize accurate computerized documentation, infection prevention and control, interpretation of chest radiographs and arterial blood gases, professional conduct, and effective interprofessional communication to support safe, patient-centered, entry-level practice.
