Course Description
This course provides an introduction to basic cardiopulmonary assessment with an emphasis on adult respiratory anatomy and physiology, including the integration of body systems that support ventilation, oxygenation, and overall homeostasis. Course topics include the principles of oxygenation, lung mechanics, and ventilation, as well as the theoretical foundations of pulmonary function testing, electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation, and arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation. The focus is on developing a strong cognitive understanding of cardiopulmonary function to support future clinical application.
