Northland’s Respiratory Therapist A.A.S. program prepares you for a critical role in healthcare, helping patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary conditions live healthier lives. Through flexible HyFlex learning and hands-on clinical training, you’ll gain the skills to deliver oxygen therapy, manage ventilators, perform diagnostic tests, and educate patients—all under physician supervision. Graduates are ready to pursue licensure and begin impactful careers in hospitals, clinics, and emergency care settings.

Future career information.
The graduate of the AAS in Respiratory Care will be eligible, as required by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), to take first the entry Level exam, followed by the advanced level examination to be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Both levels require national credentialing examinations to earn the credentials of Certified or Registered respectively. Demand for Respiratory Care Practitioners is very high, with a nationwide projected increase of over 50%.
