Program specifics about earning an Animal Science Diploma at Northland.

Animal Science Diploma allows students to explore the field of animal science with an emphasis on livestock animals. Technological advances in the animal sciences have contributed to a safe, healthy, abundant, & inexpensive food supply.

Learner Outcomes

  1. Students will identify and implement sustainable livestock management practices that will improve livestock quality, provide management, and ensure economic viability of the livestock industry.
  2. Students will demonstrate a working knowledge of animal production-based management decisions and the latest technological advances inlivestock industry.
  3. Students will demonstrate knowledge in livestock anatomy and physiology and relate form to function, health and disease, reproduction, managment, nutrition, and agri-business.
  4. Students will explore current trends and technologies used in the lievstock insutry.
