Northland and Minnesota State University Moorhead Announce Partnership in Health Administration

Multiple Northland programs will qualify for articulation agreement

January 28, 2020 – Northland Community & Technical College and Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) are excited to announce a new partnership between the institutions’ Health Services programs.

This partnership is designed to allow students seeking degrees in participating programs at Northland to seamlessly transfer to MSUM to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration.

The Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on today’s issues, including specialized health management courses. Elective courses allow you to specialize in various health care delivery fields, such as health services management, elder services management, ambulatory services management, and community services management.

“This is a great opportunity for Northland graduates who gain work experience and decide they want to move to the next level,” explains Northland Provost Brian Huschle, “This a smooth and cost-effective way for them to advance their careers.”

Current Northland programs qualifying for this transfer pathway include Health Sciences Broad Field A.S., Dietetic Technology A.A.S., Medical Administrative Assistant A.A.S., Occupational Therapist Assistant A.A.S., Physical Therapy Assistant A.A.S., Radiologic Technology A.A.S., Respiratory Therapist A.A.S., and Surgical Technology A.A.S. Northland and MSUM also expect additional programs to be added in the near future.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Co-Chair of the School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership and Associate Professor at MSUM added, “Our online BS in Health Services Administration prepares students for management positions in a variety of healthcare organizations. The program gives students a foundation in health services management coupled with practical internship experience at a premier healthcare organization, to equip them with the skills and confidence to be a leader in the healthcare field. Our program offers much needed flexibility so students can earn their degree without leaving their community or disrupting their current work schedule.”
