EAST GRAND FORKS — Northland Community and Technical College is anticipating 12% enrollment growth over the previous academic year, following last year’s growth of 9.1%.
President Shari Olson said enrollment information for spring is still coming in, but looking at trend data the college is confident the school year will end with 12% growth from the summer, fall and spring semesters added together.
“We’re thrilled about that,” she said.
Olson looked into some of Northland’s program codes and found particular growth in areas like criminal justice, welding technology, respiratory care and the LPN and RN nursing programs. When she became interim president in July 2024, one goal she set was to increase enrollment by 10% over three years. Now, after almost a year as president , she credits the growth to a team effort by the college.
