Northland Community & Technical College will celebrate more than 600 graduates during two spring commencement ceremonies. The Thief River Falls campus will celebrate its ceremony on Thursday, May 11, in the Northland gymnasium at 6:30 p.m. Northland’s East Grand Forks campus will hold its ceremony on Friday, May 12, at 11 a.m. in the Chester Fritz Auditorium, Grand Forks, ND.
“It is an honor to recognize our graduates as we celebrate their milestone accomplishments during our commencement ceremonies,” expressed Northland Community & Technical College President Sandy Kiddoo. “With over 50% of Northland’s graduates remaining in the region to work and continue their education, we celebrate not only the achievements of our students but also their future success and impact they will make on our communities.”
Student of the Year award recipients D’Mani Nettles (TRF) and Greta Haslekaas (EGF) will address fellow graduates and guests. Nettles will graduate with an Associate of Arts degree and plans to continue his education at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga. He was a two-year starter on the Northland men’s basketball team. Haslekaas received an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). She was honored at the Minnesota PTA Convention in Minneapolis earlier this month.
Friends, family members, and the general public who are unable to attend commencement are invited to watch the ceremonies via live stream through the college website. The video will play once broadcasting starts and can be viewed on a computer, mobile device, or smart TV. Commencement ceremonies are expected to last approximately 90 minutes.
