Business program offerings to be expanded to both Northland campuses

Thief River Falls campus students will have greater program accessibility.

August 9, 2022 – Northland Community & Technical College has expanded access to the Administrative Professional and Marketing and Management programs. Starting this fall, students on the Thief River Falls campus can now join classes for these programs virtually via Zoom or choose to access recorded lectures on their own schedule and pace. Previously, these programs were only offered on the East Grand Forks campus.

“With our expansion of virtual course options across many disciplines, we wanted to make sure students at both of our campuses have the opportunity to access that variety of programming,” said Stephanie LeDuc, Northland Interim Dean of Health, Public Services, and Technical Programs. “This is one way we can extend a program’s reach and be sure students are aware of all their educational options.”

As higher ed continues to evolve following the COVID-19 pandemic, Northland is evaluating programming for efficiency and flexibility and will expand virtual course offerings where feasible. Many courses that were previously only accessible face-to-face have now moved to hyflex or hybrid, where students can choose to attend class in person, online, or both.

“Northland is positioning ourselves for the future by trying to meet all our students where they are at, in whatever format they prefer, to assist them with their educational goals,” said Sandy Kiddoo, Northland’s President.
