POSTPONED WDS Pilot/Escort Car Driver

Minnesota pilot car/escort car drivers are required to certify every four years. Successful completion of the recertification course will provide one four-year certification in an eight-year period. Twenty-five (25) examination questions are included in the course, of which 20 must be answered correctly in order to achieve recertification.  Topics include: a review of the standard, height pole usage, flagging and flagger requirements, railroad grade crossing safety, and working with law enforcement.  This course meets the training requirements of Minnesota Administrative Rules, Chapter 7455.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Minnesota Pilot Car/Escort Car Driver Initial Certification.

If you do not complete recertification by your expiration date, you will have a 90-day grace period after your expiration date to attend a recertification class in order to regain your status as a certified pilot/escort driver so that you can legally escort again in Minnesota. If you fail to attend and successfully complete recertification class during that grace period, you will then be required to attend and successfully complete a full 8-hour certification class in order to legally escort again in Minnesota.

Students must provide a recent (no more than 30 days older than course start) CERTIFIED driving record for this class. Please click the link below for the order form to order a CERTIFIED copy.
*Students are responsible for the fee associated with obtaining your driving record.
