Open Enrollment: BLS CPR certification course for school prerequisite and employment in healthcare. Open to Northland Community & Technical College students, instructors, and health partners in our community. This course is intended for individuals who must be CPR and AED certified for school and employment in any healthcare field. Topics covered in this course include: Rescue breathing, CPR for adults, children and infants, two-person CPR, use of a Bag Valve Mask (BVM), care of an obstructed airway, and how to use an Automatic External Defibrillator. We combine American Heart Association (AHA) video-based teaching, verbal instruction, and hands-on skills-practice using manikins. Successful completion of the class will include a written test and a skills-based practical evaluation by the instructor. Advance registration required.
