Program Facts

Average Class Size:
Maximum class size is 20. Typically we have classes of 14-18 for lecture classes. Skills classes have a maximum of a 10:1 student to instructor ratio.

Clinicals:
“In-house” clinical are completed at Altru Health Systems in Grand Forks, ND. “Field work” is completed at Grand Forks Fire Department; East Grand Forks Fire Department; Altru Ambulance in Grand Forks, Gold Cross Ambulance in Rochester, MN; St. Mary’s EMS in Detroit Lakes, MN; and City of West Des Moines EMS in West Des Moines, IA. Internships are completes at the 4 previously listed ambulance services.

Tips for Success:
Study each day, don’t cram for exams but study the information on a daily basis. Form study groups.

Types of Jobs:
Paramedics working a wide range of jobs, including, but not limited to: street medicine, air medical crews, off shore oil rigs, municipal and private fire services/departments, national parks, industrial settings, wilderness search and rescue, critical care transports, emergency departments, ICU’s and SCCU’s, to name a few.

Placement Rates: 100%.
We have ambulance services from across the nation recruiting our graduates.

Pass Rates for the National Registry of EMT’s Paramedic Board Examination:
Our graduates enjoy a 90%+ pass rate on the NREMT-Paramedic Board exams, well above the national average.
