StarID Self Service

Did you forget your StarID? Quickly and easily locate or activate your StarID with StarID Self Service. Your StarID is used for logging into; D2L, Student Email, Wireless Internet Access, and the Campus Network.

The Northland ITS helpdesk provides a standard level of support for student laptops for academic use.

How do I know if I am required to have a laptop for college?

Some programs require laptops, as well as additional computer requirements. View the list of Northland programs requiring laptops. See your program advisor for additional specific computer requirements.

Computer Access

Northland has many computer areas available for student use. Visit the HOW DO I? section for a listing of labs and hours.

Email

Your student email account is in the format of first.lastname@go.northlandcollege.edu.

Note: Common names may have a number following the last name. Confirm your information via the StarID Self Service portal.

Email is the official means of communication between Northland and students. Please check daily to ensure you don’t miss out on important updates and announcements. You may also set up your smartphone to receive your email.

Printing

Students receive $20 of free printing each semester. Additional printing may be purchased at the Kiosks located in the cafeteria on each campus. The Kiosks are your quickest way to get funds into your print balance. They take coins and paper bills.

For debit or credit card purchases, go to the campus bookstores.

Wireless Coverage

Northland campuses have full wireless coverage for students, employees, and guests. Guests will need to contact the IT department for a guest user account.
