Project Engineer - Technologies

Job Description:  
We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Technologies Division for a motivated Project Engineer to join our growing organization in our Minneapolis office. The Project Engineer is responsible to assist project personnel in managing all construction processes to ensure project quality, schedule, cost control, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives are met or exceeded. The primary responsibilities of a Project Engineer – Technologies include, but are not limited to:

Prepares drawings and sketches, change orders, estimates, RFIs, etc. to support construction work.
Maintain submittal logs; assures that all submittals are received, reviewed, returned and disseminated to the appropriate parties in a timely manner, and that they are thoroughly and accurately reviewed for content and conformance with the construction documents.
Recognize any changes to the work differing from the construction documents and notify appropriate parties.
Assists with procurement, including quantity takeoffs and pricing for purchase orders, subcontracts, potential changes in scope of work.
Participate with project team to maintain accurate and up to date record drawings and project logs, including drawings and specifications logs, RFIs, ASIs, Change Orders, Inspections and Testing.
Assists Project Manager with budget tracking, job cost review and reporting.
Develops warranty/ O & M manual listing.
Assists in preparing project status reports and participates in project status meetings; assists in development of meeting minutes.
Assemble, organize and maintain all documentation needed for timely project commissioning and closeout activities.
Assists with pre-construction activities as needed: construction planning and design; interpretation of design and drawings; application of construction methods; bid packages.
Interprets designs and drawings; prepares takeoffs; researches and recommends resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts and errors.
Creates correspondence to owners, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, etc.
Conduct jobsite inspections of first work in place to assure accurate placement and conformance with the contract documents and Parsons project quality assurance standards.
Must be willing to travel if required.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirement: Associates Degree in Electrical or Construction Management or related field; or two plus (2+) years of related experience.
Or any similar combination of education and experience.
Successful candidates will possess:

Knowledge of construction methods and materials, costing, scheduling and estimating.
LEED Accredited is desirable.
The ability to read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, plans, blueprints and specifications preferred.
Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with computerized estimating systems with familiarity with Accubid preferred.
Experience using Revit, CAD, Navisworks and BIM is desirable.
The ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and reacts to these appropriately.
Valid drivers license required.
