Civil Liberties

(Fulfills MNTC Areas: 5, 9) This course is the history of the U.S. Constitution. Civil Liberties is a course designed to examine the relationship through time between the government and the individual as proposed under the U.S. Constitution. Topics will include freedom of expression, freedom of religion, the right to privacy, equal protection of the laws, and the right to vote. The focus of the course will include the review of U.S. Supreme Court decisions in which constitutional protections are interpreted. Prerequisite: None
