Radio Business (starting Fall 2010) |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The business of radio broadcasting has changed dramatically in the digital age. Today, radio goes beyond the on-air signal, to reach listeners via the internet and podcasts. The Radio Business program is part of Northland’s Center for New Media, a first of its kind approach to melding traditional broadcasting with the new media of the web. Students create programming for Pioneer 90.1, the only on-air radio station originating from a Minnesota Community and Technical College. The Radio Business diploma program trains students in the skills needed most by today’s broadcast industry. Students gain an understanding of the economics of radio, podcasting and webcasting, sportscasting and remote broadcasting, web design and content creation, and commercial production. The Radio Business diploma program trains students in the skills needed most by today’s broadcast industry: The College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, (800) 621-7440, 30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602-2504. |
