Course Description:

This course will provide the student with an understanding of the 7-layer open systems interconnect (OSI) model and how the model relates to internet connectivity. Instruction includes basic network media such as wireless, fiber optic and copper and correct wiring techniques using industry standards. The importance of documentation and design criteria are included with an initial discussion on how networking protocols relate to network communication.
