Finance the Hybrid, or Fix the old car?

-From the Thursday morning interview with Jason Pangiarella; Success Coordinator, NCTC Thief River Falls.

This mornings topic:

-Is buying a new Hybrid THE best way to go????

Sometimes I wonder about this myself. Jason had an excellent topic for us this morning. He talked about the idea of whether or not it's really benefiting the environment to trash your old ride, and sign the papers for a new Hybrid vehicle. One of the best points I think Jason had was that most people could fix their old car for less than the cost of two months payments for a new car. Just think about that for a minute. With 400-600 bucks, most people could fix all those annoyances with their current car and prevent it from going to rot in a junkyard. So, maybe putting a little elbow grease into that old Honda is a better decision for you. Sometimes the energy it takes to buy into new technology prevents you from having the resources and time to be smart with what you already have. Just my thoughts. This isn't true for every situation. The article does a much better job. The Honda pic comes compliments of our very own Station Manager, Travis Ryder- a smart guy, driving a gas efficient, paid for vehicle. And, who can deny this fact. The car's a chick magnet.
