Why did you choose Broadcasting as a career: " I was always fascinated with the idea that you could create something and you could put it on the air for hundreds of people to hear or watch."
What parts of radio were you really interested in starting out: " Disc jockey, but then I started to get into the video aspect of it and worked in Florida as a producer, anchor, and a reporter."
Where was your first radio job: At WQPM at Princeton , MN

Favorite Movie: Napoleon Dynamite
Favorite Music: Adult standards, old country, and old cheesy pop music.

Why did you choose Broadcasting as a career: "It chose me. I took this position to try and transform the station into something the community will find valuable and take part in."
What parts of radio were you really interested in starting out: "My first radio experience was in news reporting, and I still really like radio news' immediacy, intimacy, and power to engage the imagination."
Where was your first radio job: "As a University student I had semi-paid jobs at campus station KUMM, Morris MN, as news director and then station manager. My first commercial radio gig was as a weekend announcer and sports engineer at KMRS/KKOK, also in Morris."
How long have you been working at NCTC: Since July, 2004.
Favorite Novel: " I never learned to read. Seriously, I don't read enough novels to judge."
Favorite Movie: " There are too many good films to pick just one."
Favorite Music: " Indie rock, alt-country, underground hip-hop, hard jazz, anything authentic."
Favorite Radio Stations: KAXE in Grand Rapids, MN, most NPR news stations, KVSC in St. Cloud , WXPN in Philadelphia , KFJM in Grand Forks , and Pioneer 90.1 in its better moments!" |
