Northland Community & Technical College hosted the 2016 State of the College Luncheon Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016. The address featured John Oncken, Chamber Board Chair, David Murphy, City Administrator, and NCTC President Dr. Dennis Bona as he discussed the theme of the event, "Moving the Needle-Leading Our Community Forward" in NCTC's East Grand Forks campus commons. The event wass co-sponsored by The Chamber of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks.

"Moving the Needle " expanded upon the role of NCTC within the community and the region as it provides well-prepared graduates for the regional workforce. It also reinforced how partnerships and collaboration are keys to ensure NCTC remains an economic driver within the region. Dr. Bona discussed local economic trends, state funding, employment rates, and the decrease in tuition across the Minnesota State system and how these all impact NCTC and the students served.

NCTC’s marketing department unveiled a new website geared toward educating the community, industry, and potential students as to who NCTC truly is. The NCTC Stories website was introduced to the attendees and showed how NCTC is telling the stories of inspired and influential students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
