Northland Community & Technical College will be hosting the eighth annual ROBO Storm camps this summer at both the East Grand Forks and Thief River Falls campuses. The camp will occur on June 11-12, 2014 at the Thief River Falls campus and on June 16-17, 2014 at the East Grand Forks location. Camps will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4:45 p.m. both days.
ROBO Storm camp was created in 2007 at Northland Community & Technical College with financial support from 360°, a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Center of Excellence in Manufacturing and Applied Engineering. The camps are intended for students in grades six through eight. ROBO Storm will provide a hands-on environment where students creatively develop their math and science skills. Participants will be given the opportunity to build a robot, participate in a team competition, tour a local manufacturing facility, and enjoy daily design challenges. Lunch will also be provided during the camp.
Due to the continued success of the camp, space is limited to 24 campers per session on a first come, first served basis to ensure a quality camp with lots of one-on-one guidance from experienced instructors. Numerous NCTC faculty and staff make every ROBO Storm camp a reality each year. Andrew Dahlen, Electronics Technology Automated Systems Instructor and staff from the Center for Outreach & Innovation all are actively involved with each camp.
For more information or to register for ROBO Storm camp, please contact Melanie Oakes at 218-793-2484 or email@example.com. You also can register and pay online at http://northlandcollege.augusoft.net. The cost of the camp is $75 and includes all supplies, food, activities, t-shirt & prizes.
