Several members of the Northland Community & Technical College marketing and communications department attended the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) conference in San Francisco, CA and were awarded a national gold Paragon Award. The NCMPR event was held March 11-14, 2012 at the Fairmont Hotel. The NCMPR is the national standard for marketing, communications, and public relations in two-year educational institutions.
The event featured speakers, workshops, roundtable discussions, and expert panels to provide insight into current issues facing two-year departments. The highlight of the four-day event is the Paragon Awards ceremony. The Paragon Awards are a national level award for different categories relating to marketing, communications, and advertising. Each category has a bronze, silver, and gold level with gold being the highest award that receives a trophy and framed certificate of recognition.
Northland received the national Gold Paragon award for it’s electronic view book. Jason Trainer, director of marketing and communications, received the award on behalf of Northland. “It’s a great honor to be recognized for creating some of the highest quality work amongst our peers. Having marketing material that is ranked first in nation is something that Northland can really be proud of,” said Trainer.
