The Northland Jazz Band is described by some as the best kept secret in town. This dynamic student and adult group meets regularly to prepare music from several genres for public and private performances. The first rehearsal for the fall semester is Monday, September 14, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:45 p.m.

The jazz band plays for several Northland events during the year. The first scheduled performance is the Autumn Musicale on Thursday, November 19, at 6:00 p.m., when they will be sharing the stage with Northland High School Honor Band and the Northland Community Band.

According to NCTC Music Instructor Linda Samuelson, “Our instrumentation remains fairly constant, but there definitely room for more. In particular, we could use an alto saxophonist and a trumpet player or two. If you are interested and able, a spot will be available for you. Please consider joining our swinging band of musicians on Monday nights at 5:30 p.m. in the Northland Music Department, Room 407.”
