John is a Big Four CPA with over 15 years of diversified accounting, project management, internal controls, taxation and financial consulting experience. Prior to teaching at Northland, John worked in the Sarbanes-Oxley field for seven years including project management, documentation, walkthrough and substantive controls testing responsibilities at numerous clients in San Diego. His focus was on Sarbanes-Oxley projects for publicly traded high tech and biotech companies in the San Diego area including; Senomyx, Cadence Pharmaceuticals, and Neurocrine Biosciences.
Prior to his stint as a consultant, John obtained a wide variety of diversified experience in the accounting, auditing, and tax fields as well as a two year foray in sales and recruiting with Robert Half International. John has worked for diversified companies from small one person CPA firms to the largest accounting and consulting firm in the world (PricewaterhouseCoopers), and dealt with tax filings including: individuals, partnerships, Corporations, and even American expatriates living abroad.
BA in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Certified Public Accountant License (inactive - California).
