APICS offers two internationally recognized certification programs, Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and Certified in Integrated Resource Management (CIRM). APICS certifications are recognized worldwide as standards of professional excellence and quality within the manufacturing and service industries. To achieve the CPIM or CIRM Certifications you must pass five examinations for each certification.
Once you earn your CPIM designation, you are eligible to take your professional credentials to the next level with the Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) program. The CFPIM designation is awarded to an elite group of professionals who share their knowledge with others through presenting, publishing, teaching, and participating in other professional development activities.
A CPIM education can help you to
- Increase your functional knowledge of production and inventory management
- Improve efficiency across the processes of your organization's supply chain
- Streamline operations through accurate forecasting
- Predict outcomes more accurately
- Maximize customer satisfaction by delivering products and services Just-in-Time
- Increase profitability by optimizing your organization's inventory investment
- Enhance your credibility among peers, employers, and customers.
APICS certification programs open the door to job opportunities and career advancement. According to a recent APICS Salary Survey, respondents with CPIM or Certified Integrated Resource Management (CIRM) credentials earned 15 percent to 23 percent more than non-certified professionals. In addition, more Internet-savvy manufacturing companies are demanding APICS certification on applicant resumes. On Monster.com, more than 61 percent of manufacturing jobs request APICS certification!
CPIM and CIRM examinations have received recommendations for credit by both the American Council on Education (ACE) and the New York State Board of Regents. These credit recommendations are intended to guide participating institutions in granting college credit to students who pass CPIM or CIRM exams.
