Northwest Regional Training presents 2005-2006 Training Schedule
Northwest Regional Training specializes in law enforcement training. In the late 1970's, the state of Minnesota began requiring licensure of Peace Officers and as a result, the Minnesota Peace Officers Standards & Training board came to be. A POST requirement mandated that all Minnesota Peace Officers receive a minimum of 48 hours of approved training every three years prior to license renewal. In the 1980's, law enforcement leaders from through-out Northwestern Minnesota met at Northland College to organize a regional training organization that would provide approved continuing education training for officers. As a result of this meeting, Northwest Regional Training was formed.
NRT primarily serves law enforcement agencies in twelve counties of Northwestern Minnesota . Certain special classes are attended by officers from through-out Minnesota as well as other states. Training classes are scheduled at various locations in our region. The NRT motto is "Quality Law Enforcement Training in Convenient Locations".
