Rogalla named pre-season All-American

Northland Community and Technical College sophomore Shawna Rogalla of Thief River Falls, MN, has been named as a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Woman’s Basketball Pre-Season All American Second Team for the 2008-2009 season.

Pioneers lose to Hibbing in Region 13B? title match

Northland beat Central Lakes in the semifinals, but lost to host Hibbing in the title match of the 2008 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Region 13B volleyball tournament.

Northland will meet Central Lakes in NJCAA Region 13B tournament

Post-season play will continue for the Northland Community and Technical College volleyball team this week when the Pioneers compete in the 2008 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Region 13B tournament at Hibbing.

Freshman, Shawna Rogalla, has had an incredible first year with the Pioneers.  Her intensity and team play has earned her all-region honors.  Shawna is 2nd in the nation in assists, with over 8.4 a game.

Sophomore - Mario Johnson was named to the MCCC All-North Division team and MCCC State All-Tournament team.  Freshman - Reo Thomas was named to the MCCC All-North Division and the MCCC All-State team.

Pioneer Women's Basketball Plays in Regional XIII Championship

Coach Guy Finstrom, in his second year as the women's basketball coach, has led his team to the region finals again.  This year they will take on Central Lakes Community College, Saturday, March 1st at 5 p.m. in Brainerd, Minnesota.

Tressta Ralston named Player of the Week

Tressta Ralston average 19.5 points, 5 steals and 8.5 rebounds this week and was honored by the Minnesota Community College Conference for her achievements.

NCTC signs another Thief River player to join the Pioneers for the 2008-2009 season.  Francine Twistol is a 5'11 middle hitter, honor student, and honorable mention all conference volleyball player.

Kelsi Kiecker signs letter of intent for Pioneers Volleyball

Coach Lisa Handley announces the signing of Win-E-Mac's setter Kelsi Kiecker.  Kelsi is a 4-year varsity volleyball player. She reached 1,000 assists in volleyball this year and also reached her 1,000 point in basketball early this month.

Casey Egested named Player of the Week

The Minnesota Community College Conference has recognized Casey Egested as Northern Division Player of the Week in women’s basketball.

Northland Community and Technical College sophomore Amie Salvhus of McIntosh, Minn., has received an All-American Honorable Mention by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Northland to Host Holiday Basketball Tournament

Northland Community & Technical College will be the site for 13th Annual Girls Holiday Basketball Tournament and the 17th Annual Boys Holiday Basketball Tournament. “We, along with TRF radio, are excited once again to be hosting the “Holiday Basketball Tournaments, said Paul Peterson, NCTC activities director. “The Holiday Basketball Tournament has been a good starter tournament for many area teams.”

Coach Lisa Handley of Northland Community and Technical College announces her first player signed to a NJCAA national letter of intent. Kayla Tharaldson of Goodridge, MN, has signed to play for the Pioneers volleyball team in the fall of 2008.

Amie Salvhus named to NJCAA All-Region XIII Team

The National Junior College Athletic Association announced this week that Amie Salvhus of the Northland College volleyball team has been named to NJCAA All-Region 13 Team.

Four volleyball players named to the MCCC All-Northern Division team

Four Northland Community and Technical College volleyball players were named to the 2007 Minnesota Community College Conference All-Northern Division team.

NCTC volleyball team heads to state tournament

The Northland College volleyball team recently finished second the Northern Division – qualifying them to compete in the Minnesota Community College Conference state volleyball tournament this week at Ridgewater Community College in Willmar.

Amie Salvhus hits 1000 career assists

Amie Salvhus, sophomore setter for the Northland College Pioneer volleyball team, hit her 1000th career assist during the Homecoming match against MSCTC (Fergus Falls) on Friday, September 14, in the NCTC gym.
