Lipkins named 1st Team All-American

THIEF RIVER FALLS, MINN. (April 8th, 2011) – The National Junior College Athletic Conference has recognized Terrell Lipkins as 1st Team All American in Division III Men’s Basketball.

Players are selected based on their statistics and the role they play in their team’s success. Lipkins, was a sophomore guard for the Northland Pioneer Men's basketball team which won the Northern Division this year and lost in the MCAC state semi finals to Rochester Community & Technical College. Terrell was named to the MCAC All State Men’s Basketball Team in 2010 and 2011, as well as the Region 13 Men’s Basketball Team the past two seasons. Lipkins now adds 1st Team All American to his list of achievements. This season Lipkins averaged 26.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.3 steals per game last year for the Pioneers. Lipkins finished his career with 1,275 points which is averaging 22.7 points and averaging 6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Lipkins is the first 1st Team All American that Northland has had.

Lipkins is a 2009 graduate of Canton McKinley High School in Canton, OH. He is the son of George Davis and Rosetta Johnson of Canton, OH. “Terrell is a special player and is very deserving of this. Terrell has a bright future in front of him.” says Head Basketball Coach Rick Nikunen. Lipkins is planning on playing basketball next year and has not decided on where but has numerous college opportunities.
