Wortham named NJCAA Football All American

The National Junior College Athletic Conference has recognized Johnell Wortham as Honorable Mention All American in Football.

Players are selected based on their statistics and the role they play in their team’s success. Wortham, was a Sophomore Running Back for the Northland Pioneer Football team which won the Northern Division this year and lost in the MCAC State finals to Rochester Community & Technical College. Johnell was named to the MCAC All State Football Team, as well as the Region 13 Football Team before being named NJCAA All American. This season Wortham rushed for 965 yards on 123 carries. He also caught 55 balls for 574 yards and scored 9 rushing and 4 receiving touchdowns for the Pioneers. Wortham was first in the MCAC North in rushing and and receiving.

Wortham was a transfer from Mississippi College. He is the son of Arnold and Shawanda Wortham of Saint Rose, LA. He is planning on playing football for Savannah State University next year which is a DI AA college and play in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
