Magner named Player of the Week

Molly Magner, a 5’5” defensive specialist from Newfolden, MN, has been named the Northern Division Libero of the Week by the Minnesota Community College Conference.

Dowers hired as Pioneer Head Baseball Coach

Steve Crittenden, Dean of Student Development announced this week that Barry Dowers has been named new Head Baseball Coach at Northland Community & Technical College.

Pioneer fall sports in full swing

Northland College’s fall sports offerings officially got underway with team meetings on Friday, August 7. The athletic department announced that 62 students reported for football and women’s volleyball.

Two Pioneer student athletes receive NJCAA Academic All-American Honors

Pioneer women’s volleyball hires new coach

Northland Community and Technical College Dean of Student Development Steve Crittenden announced the hire of Abdul Chamma of Thief River Falls, as Northland College’s new head volleyball coach.

Pioneer women’s basketball signs seven new recruits

Northland Community & Technical College Head Basketball Coach Guy Finstrom has signed seven new players to the Pioneer women’s basketball team. Brittany Wiseth, a center from Lincoln High School; Cassie Gunderson, a forward from Lincoln High School; Danelle Schommer, a forward from Win-E-Mac High School; Brittany Kirkeide, a center from BGMR; Lakiyah Brown, a guard from Camden, NJ; Ashley Sundeen, a guard from Lakota, ND; and Bridget Lunde, a guard from Maddock, ND, have signed letters of intent to play women’s basketball for the 2009-2010 school year.

Brittni Johnson has been named Division III National Pitcher of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic

Kyle Nowacki, a sophomore at Northland Community & Technical College, MN, has been named Northern Division Pitcher of the Week by the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.

History of Women’s Athletics at Northland College Project

One of Deb Jacobson’s projects she wanted to work on after retirement was to compile the history of women’s athletics at Northland.
